India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was forced to leave the field retired hurt after taking a blow to his wrist during the opening day of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo. The incident occurred in the 58th over of India's innings when Sri Lanka pacer Lahiru Kumara delivered a short ball that Pant attempted to pull, resulting in a glove edge. Team physios immediately attended to Pant on the field, applying an ice pack before he walked off and was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja. Pant subsequently received further treatment and taping in the dugout. India entered the match leading the two-match series 1-0 following a 165-run victory in Galle.
