The Mamata Banerjee-led faction will now be known as the Mamata All India Trinamool Congress with the 'football player' symbol, while the Arup Roy-led faction has been allotted the name Democratic Trinamool Congress and the 'envelope' symbol. The bypolls are scheduled to take place in the Nandigram and Rejinagar constituencies. Both factions submitted alternative names and symbols to the Commission as instructed.
