Sri Lankan javelin thrower Rumesh Pathirage won the Zurich Diamond League meet after recording a throw of 92.07m in his final attempt. This achievement makes him only the fourth athlete in history to surpass the 92m mark on two separate occasions. He joins Jan Zelenzy, Johannes Vetter, and Aki Parviainen as the only other throwers to reach this milestone. Pathirage, who has now won four Diamond League meets this season, currently holds seven of the top ten throws globally. Despite reporting a headache before the competition, he secured the win after trailing with a best of 89.90m earlier in the event.
