Russia's Defence Ministry stated on August 30, 2026, that it is preparing large-scale attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. On August 30, the Russian military claimed to have struck a facility in Kyiv used for drone and munitions production, as well as an asbestos and cement plant. These developments follow a strike on August 29 that hit an ammunition depot in the suburbs of Kyiv, resulting in at least 37 deaths.
