Russia to Recruit 70,000 Indian Workers for Construction and Logistics

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar informed a parliamentary consultative committee that Russia has agreed to hire approximately 70,000 Indian skilled workers this year. These workers are expected to be deployed primarily in the construction and logistics sectors. During the meeting in New Delhi, the minister also discussed efforts to balance bilateral trade by increasing Indian exports in sectors such as pharmaceuticals, automobiles, and chemicals. The discussions further covered ongoing connectivity projects, including the Chennai-Vladivostok corridor and the International North-South Transport Corridor. Regarding the Ukraine conflict, Jaishankar reiterated India's commitment to supporting dialogue and diplomacy to reach a resolution.
