Two Russian drones struck the Pivdennyi bridge in central Kyiv in broad daylight, halting public transport as a metro train crossed the Dnipro river structure. City authorities reported that preliminary checks found no critical structural damage despite an explosion near a main support section. Earlier in the morning at around 09:00 local time, a separate drone hit a school in the capital, causing a partial collapse of the third floor. More than 100 students inside the building reached a reinforced shelter safely and no injuries were reported among staff or children. The strikes coincide with renewed Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy grid, which have triggered power cuts across the capital following shortages of air defences.
