S Jaishankar to Host UAE Deputy PM and Marco Rubio in Mumbai

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar will travel to Mumbai to host UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan on October 19-20. He will subsequently hold talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on October 20. The discussions with Rubio will focus on bilateral cooperation across energy, trade, investment, defence, and critical technologies. Jaishankar will also attend celebrations for the 250th anniversary of United States independence as the guest of honour. The Ministry of External Affairs defended the decision to host foreign dignitaries in Mumbai, citing a decade-long practice of hosting international leaders in various Indian cities.
