· Technology · Fortune, TechCrunch

San Francisco startup Halluminate has raised $30 million in a Series A funding round led by Oak HC/FT, bringing its total funding to $38.5 million. Founded in 2024, the nine-person company builds specialized AI training environments and benchmarks models on complex financial tasks. CEO Jerry Wu states that the firm develops verticalized data research labs to address the distinct simulation needs of industries like finance. A benchmark released by the company in August evaluated seven frontier models on a simulated private-equity acquisition due-diligence process, where the highest average score reached 51 percent. Oak HC/FT General Partner Matt Streisfeld noted that specialized training environments will become increasingly crucial as AI agents handle longer, more complex knowledge workflows.
