SCR Upgrades Kavach Safety System on Hyderabad Route

South Central Railway deployed Kavach 4.0 on a 108-km Hyderabad section between Malkajgiri and Kamareddy on September 23, 2026. The indigenously developed collision avoidance system now features optical fiber communication and integrates with electronic interlocking systems. SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava inspected stations undergoing redevelopment under the Amrit Bharat Scheme during the upgrade. Version 4.0 improves location accuracy and signal transmission in large yards compared to the previous 3.2 version operating across 1,465 route km.
