· Business · LiveMint, Economic Times, Indian Express

SEBI approved the National Stock Exchange's offer for sale of 14,89,05,525 shares, aggregating to about ₹30,000 crore on Friday, 4 September. The NSE had filed its Draft Red Herring Prospectus with the regulator on 17 June 2026. The IPO is expected to surpass Hyundai Motor India's ₹27,870 crore issue from October 2024 as India's largest-ever IPO, ahead of the LIC IPO's ₹20,557 crore in May 2022. NSE may announce the price band on 11 September with listing expected on 25 September, alongside Jio Platforms' ₹37,700 crore IPO.

Why it matters

The NSE IPO gives retail and institutional investors direct access to India's largest stock exchange, while its scale could test domestic liquidity and reshape the IPO pipeline for the rest of 2026.
