Security Forces Arrest Two Terrorist Associates in Pulwama Forest

· India · The Hindu, Zee News

Security forces apprehended two suspected overground workers in the Yarwan forest area of Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir, on August 25, 2026. The joint operation involving police, Army, and CRPF personnel led to the recovery of a pistol, 12 rounds of ammunition, and a hand grenade. The suspects, identified as Latif Ahmad Deedad and Aejaz Ahmad Bajad, were taken into custody after being spotted moving toward CB Nath village. Authorities have registered a case under the Arms Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act to investigate the source of the weapons and potential network linkages. This arrest follows a similar operation in the Shopian district conducted just one day earlier.

Why it matters

The arrests disrupt local terror support networks and prevent the potential use of recovered arms in security-disturbing activities within the region.
