Seven-Year-Old Girl Becomes Organ Donor in Thiruvananthapuram

Litiksha, a seven-year-old from Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, has become a young deceased organ donor after passing away from a brain tumour at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram. Following her brain stem death, her parents consented to donate her liver, two kidneys, heart valves, and two corneas. The Kerala State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation coordinated the retrieval and allocation process. The organs were transplanted into recipients at KIMSHEALTH, Medical Trust Hospital in Ernakulam, and the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology.
