Shashi Tharoor Criticises Excessive Violence in Dhurandhar Films

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praised the plot twists and storytelling of Aditya Dhar's two-part film franchise Dhurandhar while reviewing them on his YouTube channel. He described the second part as superb entertainment but strongly criticised the excessive violence, blood, and cruelty depicted across both films. Tharoor noted that the films contain explicit propaganda and mentioned that they have been banned in Pakistan and several Gulf countries to prevent diplomatic friction. The two films, starring Ranveer Singh, received polarising responses upon their theatrical releases in December 2025 and March 2026.
