Indian captain Shubman Gill sustained an elbow injury after being struck by a delivery from Mohammed Siraj during a training session at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. Gill required medical attention for nearly 20 minutes before resuming his practice as India concluded its evening session. Meanwhile, senior batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also participated in the practice session ahead of the upcoming ODI series. The touring West Indies squad arrived in the city on September 23 but remained absent from training on Friday. The Caribbean side is scheduled to take to the nets on Saturday on the eve of the opening match.
