Shubman Gill Urges Quick Shift To First-Choice World Cup Squads
· Sports · Cricbuzz, Indian Express, Times of India
Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has stressed the need for teams to quickly settle on their first-choice combinations ahead of the upcoming World Cup instead of continuing with experiments. Speaking after recent matches, Gill pointed out that India's fielding and death bowling require urgent improvement if the side is to mount a serious challenge in the tournament. The young opener acknowledged that continuous testing of players must now give way to building settled match-day XIs. Team management has not yet announced specific changes to the squad lineup in response to these concerns.
Why it matters
Settling on a cohesive playing eleven directly impacts India's chances of lifting the World Cup trophy and determines squad stability.
