Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal are scheduled to visit six major economies—the US, Canada, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile—in the coming weeks to advance bilateral trade deals and economic ties. Sitharaman will visit Canada to meet Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne for the inaugural finance ministers' economic and financial dialogue on August 26-27, before attending the G20 finance ministers meeting in Asheville on August 31-September 1. Goyal will lead a 200-strong industry delegation to Japan starting Monday to boost bilateral trade under the India-Japan CEPA, and later travel to the US for the G20 trade ministerial meeting in Milwaukee on September 30.
