Six Arrested in Kolkata After Doctor Molested at Cinema Hall

Kolkata Police arrested six men on Sunday evening following allegations from a woman doctor that she was molested and her group assaulted inside a mall cinema hall. According to the police complaint, the accused continuously harassed the group with obscene and sexually suggestive comments during a movie, and attacked them when they protested. Theatre authorities intervened and alerted police officers, who arrived immediately to confront the suspects. The arrested men were identified as Anand Kumar, Suresh Kumar, Arvind Kumar, Srijan Darbar, Manoj Roy, and Arindam Ghosh, with Srijan claiming during interrogation to be a student at Jadavpur University. Police have filed charges against the six suspects for wrongful restraint, causing physical hurt, and outraging the modesty of a woman, and produced them in court to seek custody.
