Slovakia, Visegrád Nations Back India's UN Security Council Bid

Slovakia and the Visegrád Group nations — Poland, Hungary, Czechia — backed India's bid for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council. The support came after External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar participated in the first high-level V4 plus India meeting on the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York. Jaishankar described the meeting as a historic occasion and said discussions covered political, economic, defence, technology, space, connectivity, and people-to-people ties. The V4 countries agreed to create an annual business forum and explore more cooperation in technology and innovation. The meeting also covered global crises, including the Ukraine conflict and developments in the Gulf.
