India opener Smriti Mandhana moved past New Zealand great Suzie Bates to claim second place on the all-time list of most runs in women's international cricket during Sunday's Asia Cup clash against Thailand. Mandhana reached the milestone with her first boundary of the innings, taking her career tally to 10,756 international runs before being run out for 19 off 10 balls. She now trails only former India captain Mithali Raj, who leads the international run-scoring chart with 10,868 runs. In the same Group A match, Shafali Verma starred with an explosive 64 off 36 balls to help India recover from a late collapse and post 159/9. Thailand bowler Suleeporn Laomi finished with figures of 3/26.
