Snap has announced Specs Intelligence, an anticipatory AI service designed to work alongside its newly redesigned AR glasses and through dedicated mobile and desktop applications. The assistant connects to external user accounts such as Google to surface relevant reminders and context-driven information before scheduled meetings or trips. Unlike its social media platform Snapchat, the assistant focuses on productivity and organizes information into distinct contextual corners to separate work and family tasks. For owners of the new AR glasses, the assistant delivers information directly into the user's field of view via voice commands starting with 'Hey Specs'. Snap stated that personal content used with the service will not be accessed by personnel or utilized to train AI models and serve advertisements. A limited preview version is currently available via the iOS app in the United States, allowing users to link Google accounts for attention insights.
