Sonos Brings Back Speaker Controls to iPhone Lock Screen

Sonos has released an app update that integrates with Apple's Live Activities system to restore speaker controls on the iPhone lock screen. The feature allows users to monitor playback, adjust volume, and switch songs once the device is unlocked via Face ID or a passcode. Playback controls will disappear from the lock screen 15 minutes after audio stops. Current limitations prevent the app from displaying album art on the lock screen, and controls are not yet supported on Apple Watch or CarPlay. Sonos previously offered lock screen controls in 2016 before removing them in 2023 due to compatibility issues with Apple's updated design framework.
