Special Court Convicts 33 Persons in Hyderabad Human Trafficking Case

A special court in Hyderabad has convicted 33 individuals in a 2015 human trafficking and sexual exploitation case investigated by the CID Women Safety Wing. Five of the accused received life sentences, while others were handed rigorous imprisonment terms ranging from three to 14 years. The court also ordered ₹5 lakh in compensation each for nine victim girls. The case originated when a victim approached the CID after escaping from four months of captivity under traffickers who had promised her employment. Police raids subsequently led to the rescue of nine minor girls and other victims.
