Spectrum Electrical and Three Other Stocks See Surge in DII Holdings

· Business · LiveMint

Domestic institutional investors significantly increased their stakes in four Indian companies during the September quarter, bolstered by steady inflows from systematic investment plans. Spectrum Electrical Industries saw its DII holding jump to 7.62 per cent in September from 0.36 per cent in June, driven largely by a board-approved preferential issue. The manufacturing firm reported an 80 per cent year-on-year rise in revenue to ₹154 crore for Q1FY27, with net profit climbing 132 per cent to ₹13 crore. The company plans to use proceeds from the preferential issue primarily for debt reduction as it scales operations. However, fluctuations in raw material prices such as copper, steel, and polymer remain key risks for maintaining operating margins.

Why it matters

Increased domestic institutional backing provides financial stability and growth capital for mid-cap manufacturing firms navigating input cost volatility.
