Speeding Car Hits Auto-Rickshaw in Delhi, Killing 45-Year-Old Driver

A speeding car crashed into an auto-rickshaw in Sukhdev Vihar, Southeast Delhi around 7 am on Saturday, killing 45-year-old Mohammad Kalam and injuring Mohammad Bablu. Eyewitness Jeet reported seeing two cars racing before one struck the auto and then hit a cycle rickshaw, with the other fleeing at high speed. The accused driver, Mohammad Talib, was arrested later that day and said to be returning from a friend's birthday party; initial tests showed he was not drunk. Police are reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact sequence and identify all occupants of the vehicle. Kalam was taken to Escorts Hospital where he was declared dead, and his body was sent to AIIMS for postmortem. The car’s bonnet and windshield were damaged in the collision, as shown in passerby footage.
