Stripe to Acquire OpenRouter for $7B+

Stripe has agreed to buy AI gateway startup OpenRouter in a deal valued at more than $7 billion. OpenRouter lets customers pick from over 400 AI models and claims 8 million global users. The startup was last valued at $1.3 billion after a $113 million Series B round that included Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Menlo Ventures and Alphabet’s Capital G. Bloomberg said the acquisition followed talks that began when the Wall Street Journal reported the companies were in negotiations. A Stripe spokesperson said the company does not comment on rumors.
