Student-Backed List Projected To Win Majority In Serbian Parliament

A student-led movement in Serbia is on track to secure a parliamentary majority in the national elections. The movement, known as the Student List, is projected to win 138 seats in the 250-member parliament, according to initial projections. Despite the student origins of the movement, the candidates standing for election are professionals from various fields, including a cardiologist and a former central bank governor. The ruling Serbian Progressive Party is currently projected to win 104 seats. Official results from the Republic Electoral Commission are still pending.
