Sudden Floods Sweep Through Nepal Following Cloudburst

At least eight people were killed and several others are missing after a sudden cloudburst triggered severe flooding along the Bhote Koshi River in Nepal’s Rasuwa district near the China border. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has issued a high-level alert for residents living near river banks in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Chitwan, and Gorkha. The disaster washed away vehicles, goods, and a newly constructed bridge in the settlements of Timure and Syafrubesi. Chinese state media reported major casualties across the border in Tibet as the surge moved downstream. The Nepal Prime Minister's Office deployed personnel from the Nepal army, armed police force, and Nepal Police to conduct rescue and relief operations.
