Sumit Mathur Credits Partnership with Ayush Badoni for Ranji Trophy Success
· Sports · Sportstar, NDTV Sports
Delhi batsman Sumit Mathur has attributed his consistent batting performance in the Ranji Trophy to his partnership with skipper Ayush Badoni. Mathur, who scored an unbeaten 50 against Jharkhand at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, noted that he benefits from Badoni's aggressive stroke-play while he takes his time at the crease. The duo shared an undefeated 128-run stand in the current match, following a 167-run partnership in the previous game against Gujarat. Mathur, who averages 40.25 in First-Class cricket, acknowledged that he needs to improve his bowling accuracy and consistency to become a more effective all-rounder.
Why it matters
Mathur's improved batting form and his partnership with Badoni are central to Delhi's current performance in the Ranji Trophy tournament.
