The plea specifically cites instances where accused persons were shown handcuffed, tied with ropes, or subjected to physical mistreatment. A bench led by Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana heard the submissions from senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan. The petitioner, Hemendra Patel, has requested the court to mandate the removal of such content and establish guidelines for police social media usage.
