Symbiosis Professor in Nagpur Put on Leave Over Alleged Messages
· India · Indian Express, The Hindu
A professor at Symbiosis Law School's Nagpur campus has been placed on leave pending an inquiry into allegations that he sent inappropriate messages to female students and urged them to follow Islam. The action followed a student's father approaching the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, which then raised the issue with the college administration and met the Nagpur Police Commissioner. The university has established a high-level committee to investigate the current allegations alongside previous complaints from his former workplace at Symbiosis Law School in Hyderabad. Deputy Commissioner of Police Nityanand Jha stated that no FIR had been registered against the professor as of Sunday. The inquiry committee held an open-house discussion with around 100 to 120 students on campus.
