The T20 Mumbai League will expand to nine teams from the 2027 edition with a new Navi Mumbai franchise awarded to Aspect Sports for ₹106.88 crore over six years. The first season carries a fee of ₹12.21 crore, and the average annual franchise fee of ₹17.81 crore exceeds 50 per cent of the highest fee among the league's eight existing franchises. MCA president Ajinkya Naik said the expansion brings the game closer to every corner of the Mumbai cricketing ecosystem. The addition is expected to give cricketers from the Navi Mumbai region a pathway into the competition.
