Bangladesh Cricket Board president Tamim Iqbal has said the proposed white-ball series against India, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is originally scheduled for August-September, has not been scrapped and that both the BCCI and BCB are searching for a fresh window. The series was pushed back because India are committed to a T20 series against Afghanistan starting September 13. Speaking to YouTube channel Not Out Noman, Tamim said both boards remain in regular communication and that intentions are positive. He also acknowledged that Bangladesh could have handled the controversy around their withdrawal from the 2026 T20 World Cup more carefully, particularly after fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was released from his IPL 2026 contract with Kolkata Knight Riders. Bangladesh had pulled out of the World Cup citing security concerns earlier in the year.
