Tata Motors has filed a trademark for the name TATA AERIS for land vehicles and parts, pointing to a potential rebranding for its upcoming compact sedan. The model, previously referred to as the Tigor facelift, is slated for launch on September 25 with both internal combustion and electric variants. Design updates are expected to include slimmer headlamps, a glossy black connecting element, and a Tiago-inspired cabin featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen and six airbags. The existing 1.2-litre petrol and factory-fitted CNG powertrains are expected to carry over alongside an upcoming Aeris.ev version. The potential name change aims to revive sales for the compact sedan, which currently trails rivals with monthly volumes hovering around 1,000 units.
