Tata Trusts Trustees Challenge Tata Sons Restructuring Proposal

Venu Srinivasan and Vijay Singh, vice-chairmen of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust, have formally objected to a proposal to restructure Tata Sons. The trustees stated they were not consulted before the plan to merge Tata Electronics Systems Solutions and Tata Consulting Engineers into Tata Sons was communicated to the company board. They warned that the reorganization could carry significant financial and regulatory consequences for stakeholders, including group employees. The two trustees have also sought regulatory action against the trust for alleged procedural violations. The Tata Sons board has not yet issued a final decision on the proposed merger.
