TDB Assures Adequate Aravana Stock for Sabarimala Pilgrimage

The Travancore Devaswom Board will ensure no shortage of Aravana prasadam during the Thulam month puja at Sabarimala by maintaining a buffer stock of eight lakh tins. TDB president K. Jayakumar announced that the expansion of the Aravana plant is in the final stage and will increase daily production capacity from 2.6 lakh to 3.6 lakh tins. The new facility is expected to become operational by October 31, 2026, with the board planning to hold 75 lakh tins by November 16, 2026, for the annual Mandalam-Makaravilakku pilgrimage. The plant is being modernised with two new cooling chambers and two boilers to meet food safety standards and prevent issues like tin bursting and fungal growth.
