Rajendra Dawadi, the head teacher at Tribhuvan Trishuli Secondary School in Nuwakot, evacuated approximately 1,600 students just 10 minutes before floodwaters destroyed the building. Mr. Dawadi initiated the evacuation after receiving warnings about the incoming disaster and a parent's urgent request to collect their child. At a separate location, teachers at the Shree Bagheswori Madhyamik School in Galchhi also successfully ordered students to leave their classrooms shortly before the facility was inundated. While school buildings were swept away, families in the affected areas reported that the majority of the students survived. The flood left thick layers of mud across the school grounds, where parents and children have since returned to salvage belongings.
