Indian decathlete Tejaswin Shankar won the bronze medal in the men's decathlon at the Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, finishing with 7,934 points. Yuma Maruyama of Japan secured the gold medal with 8,123 points, while Chen Xinghua of China took silver with 8,012 points. Despite winning the 1500m race with a timing of 4:33.09, Shankar could not upgrade his silver medal from the previous edition. This marks his second major medal of the season following his silver at the Commonwealth Games, where he also set a national record by breaking the 8,000-point mark. The 27-year-old athlete overcame a slow start on the first day in the 100m event to finish the season on a strong note.
