Telangana Electoral Rolls Exclude 7.3 Million Names

The Election Commission of India has published draft electoral rolls for Telangana that exclude 7.3 million names identified as absent, shifted, dead, or duplicate. Chief Electoral Officer C Sudharshan Reddy stated that an additional 9.2 million electors will receive notices to verify their credentials or link their records to 2002 data. The state is currently undergoing a special intensive revision exercise to clean up voter databases. Citizens whose names were excluded can submit Form 6 during the claims and objections period, which runs from August 17 to September 16.
