The company faces a significant challenge from VinFast, a homegrown automaker that currently controls 92% of Vietnam's electric vehicle market. Vietnam emerged as the region's largest EV market in 2025, with sales doubling and EVs representing nearly 40% of new car registrations. VinFast maintains a dominant position through an extensive proprietary charging network of over 150,000 ports and a broad consumer ecosystem managed by its parent firm, Vingroup.
