Benny Caldera Jr., a 40-year-old resident of Converse, Texas, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly planning a violent attack on the Texas State Capitol in Austin. Texas Department of Public Safety special agents and the FBI identified the threat and apprehended the suspect at his residence around 3 a.m. Caldera has been charged with a felony terroristic threat against a public servant. He was subsequently released from the Bexar County Jail after posting a $75,000 bond.
