Three Arrested with 10 kg Heroin and Two Assault Rifles in Amritsar

Punjab Police arrested three individuals in Amritsar on September 29, 2026, recovering 10.030 kg of heroin and two assault rifles, an AK-47 and an AK-56. The accused operated from a guava orchard leased near Modhe village, situated 500 metres from the India-Pakistan border, using it as a landing site for drone-dropped consignments. Those arrested include Sandeep Singh, his wife Kamaljit Kaur, and her brother Bikramjit Singh, all residents of Amritsar Rural. Police stated that Sandeep and his wife managed cross-border smuggling operations, while Bikramjit served as a courier. Sandeep Singh is a history-sheeter with four prior criminal cases under the Arms Act and the NDPS Act.
