Three Bambiha Gang Fugitives Deported From Malaysia, Says Amit Shah
· India · The Hindu, Times of India
Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Monday that three fugitive gangsters linked to the Bambiha Gang have been deported from Malaysia to India. The accused—identified as Jaspreet Singh, Ajay Singh, and Pawandeep Singh—were wanted for extortion, cross-border arms and narco-trafficking, and a foiled grenade attack in Ludhiana. Upon arrival in New Delhi, the fugitives were taken into police custody. Mr. Shah stated that Indian law enforcement agencies have successfully facilitated the deportation of 51 hardened criminals in 2026 alone.
Why it matters
The deportation of key gang members curbs transnational organized crime networks operating between India and Southeast Asia, impacting cartel operations in Punjab and surrounding regions.
