Three people, including two priests, were shot dead during a puja at a house in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh on Tuesday evening. The victims were identified as Babita, wife of Arvind Singh, and two priests, one of whom was Mahendra Pathak. The shooting occurred after a dispute arose when Arvind Singh questioned the priests about their Aadhaar cards upon returning from the market. Police have not yet established the exact reason for the firing or the sequence of events leading to the deaths. Arvind Singh is reported to have locked his two sons in a room and is in possession of three licensed weapons and over 40 rounds of ammunition.
