Three of Family Die in Guwahati Landslide Amid Heavy Rain

Three members of a family — a couple and their daughter — were killed in a landslide in Guwahati's Mathgharia area on Tuesday morning while they slept in their house. Their son was injured and admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital. Police recovered the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Incessant rain since early Tuesday is suspected to have triggered the slide. Locals said the man worked as a daily wage labourer and the family had been living in the area for several years with their two minor children.
