Tilak Varma Adapts Batting Approach for Middle-Order Role
· Sports · Times of India, Sportstar, Indian Express
India vice-captain Tilak Varma has shifted his batting strategy following his move from No. 3 to the middle order, focusing on attacking from the start while balancing the need to take games deep. Varma, who has excelled in run chases over the past year, emphasizes the pressure on bowlers during end-overs to guide India to victory. He recently combined with Nitish Kumar Reddy in a tense chase against New Zealand to secure a series lead. The team now aims to complete a clean sweep in the remaining matches of the five-match T20I series.
Why it matters
Varma's tactical evolution as a middle-order finisher provides India with greater flexibility and reliability in high-pressure run chases.
