Special Chief Secretary Mukesh Kumar Meena announced plans to position Tirupati as a global wedding destination during a stakeholders' conference on Wednesday. Speaking in Tirupati, the Tirupati Economic Region CEO stated that authorities will identify 50 to 100 potential projects over the next four months. The initiative aims to create affordable and luxury venues catering to all economic segments rather than focusing exclusively on high-end events. Officials plan to integrate wedding tourism with local spiritual circuits, including the Tirumala pilgrimage and surrounding heritage sites. The expanded infrastructure is expected to generate employment across hospitality, transport, catering, and event management sectors.
