Tottenham in Talks to Sign Chelsea Winger Mykhailo Mudryk on Loan
· Sports · BBC Sport
Tottenham are in advanced talks to sign Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk on a season-long loan before the transfer window closes. The 25-year-old Ukraine international is eager to return to Premier League action after resolving his doping case with the Football Association last month. Mudryk received a four-year ban in October 2024 following an adverse finding for banned substance meldonium during international duty, but the penalty was adjusted after he accepted breaking anti-doping rules and served a suspension. He has not played a competitive match since November 2024 and maintains a personal connection with manager Roberto de Zerbi from their time together at Shakhtar Donetsk. Mudryk joined Chelsea from Shakhtar in 2023 for an initial £61m and is now considered the primary target for Spurs after previous attempts to sign Iliman Ndiaye and Cody Gakpo.
Why it matters
The potential signing strengthens Tottenham's attacking options with an experienced Premier League winger while offering Mudryk a crucial career restart following his prolonged suspension.
