Fresh land subsidence at Farakka in West Bengal has disrupted ongoing track repair work, forcing the cancellation of approximately ten trains from Sealdah. The subsidence occurred along an 80-metre stretch on Friday, causing poles along the tracks to tilt and affecting the signalling system. CM Suvendu Adhikari has ordered the deployment of 20 additional buses to assist stranded passengers and directed district officials to provide food and water. Railway officials confirmed that repair efforts were delayed by the incident, though previous estimates had targeted completion by Friday noon.
