Transrail Lighting Shares Jump 13% After Capacity Surge
· Business · LiveMint, Economic Times
Transrail Lighting shares rose nearly 13% on Tuesday, 22 September, after the company completed the first phase of its brownfield expansion at Silvassa. The annual conductor manufacturing capacity at the Gujarat facility increased 70% to 40,800 km from 24,000 km. The company is pursuing a second phase that would take capacity to twice the original 24,000 km level. Transrail said the expansion will improve execution efficiency and support its integrated design, engineering, manufacturing, construction and testing operations. Whether the added capacity will drive higher execution, revenue growth and operating leverage remains to be seen.
Why it matters
The expansion gives Transrail more in-house capacity to support its EPC projects and pursue external conductor demand. Its near-term performance will depend on Phase 2 completion and how much of the new capacity is used.
