Trump Endorses Netanyahu For Reelection As Israeli Leader
· World · Bloomberg, Times of India, India Today
US President Donald Trump endorsed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for reelection, backing his long-time ally ahead of the October 27 parliamentary election. Writing on Truth Social, Trump praised Netanyahu as a warrior prime minister and a vital partner in confronting Iran. Trump warned that a change in Israeli leadership could force the United States to handle regional security threats independently. The endorsement comes after months of reported strain between the two leaders over diplomatic and military strategies. Israelis will head to the polls to elect the 120-member Knesset.
Why it matters
The high-level endorsement aims to bolster Netanyahu's electoral standing against opposition challengers in a tightly contested national vote.
